Special Education Teacher – Philadelphia (RF: 3257)
We’re seeking an experienced Pennsylvania Certified Special Education Teacher for a full-time contract position during the 2026–2027 School Year. The teacher will support students in an Autistic Support classroom serving students with significant communication and adaptive needs, including students who are minimally verbal and use AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) systems.
Location: Philadelphia, PA 19138
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Start: August 2026
Pay: $30.00 – $35.00/hour
Qualifications
- Valid Pennsylvania Special Education teaching certification required
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Current PA Clearances required
- Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder preferred
- Knowledge of autism-specific instructional strategies, behavior supports, and data collection preferred
What You’ll Do
- Develop and implement IEPs and provide individualized and small-group instruction
- Support academic, communication, social-emotional, and adaptive skill development
- Use evidence-based autism strategies, including structured teaching, visual supports, AAC, and positive behavior interventions
- Collect data and monitor student progress to guide instruction
- Support students with adaptive and self-care needs when required
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families
- Maintain required documentation and special education compliance
- Participate in IEP meetings, team collaboration, and professional development
