We are currently seeking Paraprofessionals / Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) for full-time positions (approximately 32.5 – 35 hours/week) working one-on-one with students with special needs in the Chester, PA area. The PCA will be responsible for providing educational, physical, and behavioral support to their assigned student throughout the school day. Eligible candidates must have a Credential of Competency for Special Education Paraeducators (or an associate’s degree) and up-to-date PA Clearances.

Qualifications:

• Must have a Credential of Competency for Special Education Paraeducators
• OR must have an associate’s degree
• Must have up-to-date PA clearances (from within one year)
  • FBI Fingerprints, PA Criminal Background, PA Child Abuse, Act 24
• Must have a recent physical and TB test
• Must have experience working with children
• Experience working with special needs children is preferred
• Must be comfortable providing physical assistance (ex: mobility, toileting, feeding, dressing, or hygiene needs)

Responsibilities:

• Support individual students with disabilities to access instruction and school activities
• Implement IEP accommodations and assist with specially designed instruction (SDI)
• Provide physical assistance, such as mobility, toileting, feeding, dressing, or hygiene needs
• Help with transitions between classes, locations, or activities
• Support behavior plans, including de-escalation and reinforcement strategies
• Monitor safety and well-being during all school routines
• Assist with communication, using visual schedules, AAC devices, or prompts
• Encourage student independence and fade support when appropriate
• Document observations and collect data as directed by the teacher or related service providers
• Collaborate with the teacher, therapists, and case manager on student progress and needs
• Maintain confidentiality and follow all FERPA and HIPAA guidelines
