We are currently seeking an Orientation & Mobility (O&M) Specialist for a flexible part-time or full-time in-person position supporting students with visual impairments in Olmsted Falls, OH, during the 2025–2026 school year. Caseloads are customizable, allowing providers to create a schedule and service model that fits their preferences. Eligible candidates must hold appropriate Ohio licensure or certification to provide O&M services and have experience working with students in educational settings.

Qualifications:

• Must hold a valid O&M certification through ACVREP (COMS) or a state-recognized equivalent
• Must have a valid Ohio Department of Education licensure or the ability to obtain
• Experience working with children or students with visual impairments preferred
• Must have a valid Ohio background check/fingerprint clearance

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct in-person O&M instruction to students with visual impairments in alignment with IEP goals
• Conduct evaluations to assess travel and mobility skills, developing individualized goals and instructional plans
• Collaborate with educators, families, and service providers to promote independence and safety
• Train students in the use of assistive mobility devices and orientation tools
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instruction as needed
• Participate in IEP meetings and provide professional recommendations
• Maintain accurate and timely records in compliance with district and state guidelines
