Assistant Teacher – Oaks, PA (RF: 2763)
We are currently seeking an Assistant Teacher for a full-time position working at a new school in the Oaks, PA area. This is a permanent position with a competitive salary and full benefits package. Eligible candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree, experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and/or behavior disorders, and must have up-to-date PA clearances.
Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education preferred
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and/or behavior disorders
- Must have up-to-date PA clearances
- FBI Background Check
- PA Criminal Clearance
- Child Abuse Clearance
- Act 24, Act 168
Responsibilities:
- Ensure student safety
- Assist in establishing classroom environments that is conducive to maximum learning by maintaining structure and guiding students to socially appropriate behaviors
- Work with the Special Education Teachers to implement skill acquisition and behavioral reduction programs individually and in small groups
- Perform ongoing data collection and record keeping as directed by Special Education Teacher
- Interact positively with students, professionals, parents, supervisors, administrators and school district personnel
- Assist teacher with the preparation of daily lesson assignments, including the preparation of materials, correction of assignments, and record keeping
- Assist with additional responsibilities as assigned by the classroom teacher
