We’re hiring a High School Special Education Teacher to provide academic and special education services to students with disabilities during the 2026-2027 school year.

Location: Grand Rapids, MI

Schedule: Monday-Friday, School Hours

Start: Immediate

Pay: Starting at $35.00/hour

Qualifications

• Michigan Special Education Teaching Certification required
• Successful completion of a criminal history check
• Knowledge of special education procedures and IEP requirements
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Comfortable using student information systems and special education software

What You’ll Do

• Manage a caseload of special education students, including IEPs, REEDs, and MDRs
• Develop and implement appropriate IEPs
• Provide academic support in resource room and general education settings
• Measure student skills and progress using appropriate assessments
• Advise general education teachers on accommodations and modifications
• Coordinate testing accommodations for students with IEPs
• Complete required special education reports and documentation
• Participate in the Child Find process and Special Education PLC
• Collaborate with administrators regarding discipline and student support
• Maintain accurate digital and paper student records
• Work collaboratively with school staff to provide appropriate special education services
• Perform other duties as assigned
