Paraprofessional PCA – Philadelphia (RF: 1899)

We are currently seeking Paraprofessionals for part-time and full-time positions working with early intervention-aged students throughout the Philadelphia, PA area. A large number of cases are in the 19154 zip code. The paraprofessional will be responsible for providing academic and behavioral support to students with special needs who have Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in a classroom or daycare setting. All candidates MUST have daily access to a reliable laptop or tablet and be able to document state-mandated service logs within 24 hours of each work day.

Qualifications:
  • Must have a HS Diploma or GED
  • Must have up-to-date clearances (from within one year)
    • FBI Fingerprints
    • PA Criminal Background Clearance
    • PA Child Abuse Clearance
  • Must have Mandated Reporter Training
  • Must have daily access to a reliable laptop or tablet, and must be able to log daily service notes
  • Must complete 20 hours of professional development per year
  • Previous experience working with individuals with special needs preferred
Responsibilities:
  • Assist in implementing IEP goals and accommodations under the direction of certified staff.
  • Support students in managing behavioral challenges using strategies outlined in Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment conducive to learning and emotional regulation.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to reinforce academic, social, and emotional skills.
  • Log accurate, detailed notes daily regarding the services provided and student responses/progress.
  • Collect and document data on student behavior and progress toward IEP goals.
  • Utilize positive behavior supports and de-escalation techniques as trained.
  • Collaborate with special education teachers, related service providers, and general education staff.
  • Monitor students during transitions, lunch, recess, and other non-classroom settings to support consistency.
  • Communicate observations and concerns to appropriate staff promptly and professionally.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, staff trainings, and professional development as required.
