We are currently seeking a School Counselor for a full-time position working with students in the Minersville, PA area. The position is for the 2023-2024 school year and begins in August, however we are reviewing applications and signing contracts now. Eligible candidates must have a PA School Counselor Certification and up-to-date PA clearances.

Qualifications:

• Must have a PA School Counselor Certification
• Must have a Master’s Degree
• Up-to-date PA clearances
  • PA Criminal Background Check
  • FBI Background Check
  • Child Abuse Clearance
  • Act 24, Act 168

Responsibilities:

• Serve as point of contact for ongoing communication and collaboration with parents and teachers around students requiring social-emotional support
• Support children requiring emotional support through individual and group interactions
• Design scope and sequence and engage in lesson planning
• Meet with teachers, parents, administrators, and other appropriate parties as needed to advise regarding appropriate social-emotional support and to organize any interventions that might be necessary
• Create an atmosphere of trust and collaboration among staff and parents in order to promote professional growth and enhance student learning and growth
• Ensure that all students’ rights are respected and all students’ needs are met.
• Consult and collaborate with stakeholders to create a school climate that welcomes and promotes belonging of all students
• Enhance your own cultural competence and facilitate cultural awareness, knowledge and skills
• Create and maintain an orderly, safe environment conducive to learning
• Maintain current and accurate student records
• Provide individual learning opportunities for students as needed
