School-Based Speech and Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) – Phoenix (RF: 2365)

We are currently seeking a Speech and Language Pathology Assistant for a full-time position working with K-8 students in the Phoenix, AZ area for the 2022-2023 school year. The SLPA is needed to start in August and will continue through May 2023. Eligible candidates must have a valid AZ Fingerprint card and meet one of the following education requirements: 2 year SLPA program degree from an accredited institution, or a bachelor’s degree in communication sciences and disorders from an accredited institution, or a 2 or 4-year degree from an accredited institution plus completion of an SLPA certificate program and online SLPA Education Modules from ASHA or equivalent coursework.

Qualifications:
  • 2 year SLPA program degree from an accredited institution
  • OR a bachelor’s degree in communication sciences and disorders from an accredited institution
  • OR a 2 or 4-year degree from an accredited institution plus completion of an SLPA certificate program and online SLPA Education Modules from ASHA or equivalent coursework
  • Must have a valid AZ Fingerprint card
Responsibilities:
  • Provide speech and language therapy services to home-based clients in alignment with their goals and treatment plan
  • To assist, support, and work closely with the SLP, administrators, and other members of the team
  • A Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) may conduct the following tasks under the supervision of a licensed master’s level Speech Language Pathologist, in accordance with guidelines set by the state of Arizona
  • Providing direct therapy to clients, following written therapy plans, documenting client progress toward meeting established objectives as stated in the treatment plan, and reporting progress to the supervising SLP
  • Collecting data and preparing materials as specified by the supervising SLP
  • Collaborating with the supervising SLP in establishing appropriate therapy goals
  • Communicating speech therapy objectives with families and keeping information secure and confidential
