We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a full-time position working at a school in the Langhorne, PA area. The nurse will be needed during school hours, Monday-Friday. Eligible candidates must have their Pennsylvania LPN license, and up-to-date clearances.

Qualifications:

• Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Pennsylvania
• Must have a valid CPR/First Aid certification
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must have up-to-date PA clearances
• One years experience in direct nursing care
• Previous experience with Developmental Disabilities/MR preferred

Responsibilities:

• Evaluates individual’s health status utilizing technical skills and knowledge on admission, when health needs indicate and on discharge
• Performs more detailed assessments in conjunction with campus nurse as indicated
• Administers approved immunizations as required after demonstrating adequate skills, knowledge of procedures, and immunizations
• Documents evaluations in the medical chart and on all appropriate reports, forms, graphs, etc.
• Documents the health needs of specific individuals in residential logs on a daily basis, where applicable
• Covers units other than scheduled assignment when necessary for campus wide coverage
• Rotates coverage of school programs
• Carries beeper/radio for school and back-up coverage
• Assists with emergencies
