URGENT! Preschool Teacher – Devon (RF: 2222)
We are urgently seeking Preschool Teachers for full-time positions working with preschool children in the Devon, PA area. All candidates must have a HS diploma, previous experience working with children, and up-to-date clearances.
Qualifications:
- Must meet one of the following education criteria:
- High School diploma and 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university in ECE, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education or Human Services
- OR High School diploma and 600 or more hours of secondary training
- OR High School diploma, 15 credit hours in one of the above mentioned fields and 1 year of documented experience working with children
- OR High School diploma and CDA OR High School Diploma and 2 years of documented experience working with children
- Must have up-to-date PA Clearances (from within three months) and valid CPR/First-Aid.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize the approved ACP curriculum
- Establish and enforce rules for behavior, and policies and procedures to maintain order among students
- Design an environment that responds to the children’s individual developmental levels and interests
- Observe and evaluate children’s performance, behavior, social development and physical health 2 times per year
- Instruct students individually and in groups, adapting teaching methods to meet students’ varying needs and interests.
- Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate, and use
- Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
- Confer with parents or guardians, other teachers and administrators to resolve students’ behavioral and academic problems.
- Organize and lead activities designed to promote physical, mental, and social development such as games, arts and crafts, music, and sing-a-longs, storytelling.
- Ensure the safety of children through constant supervision, effective management of space, proper maintenance of equipment, and regular practice of fire drills and other emergency procedures
- Create an open, friendly, and cooperative atmosphere in which children and families feel comfortable and secure
- Prepare materials, classrooms, and other indoor and outdoor spaces to facilitate an effective learning environment
- Prepare lesson plans to reflect ACP curriculum
- Provide a variety of language stimulation activities
- Ensure that parents receive adequate information about their child’s experiences at the center
