We are currently seeking a certified Special Education Teacher for a full-time position working with students in the Newark, OH area. This position is for the 2023-2024 school year and begins mid-August. Candidates must have a valid OH Education of the Handicapped Licensed/Certificate with SLD, CD validation (candidates with multiple special education validations preferred) or Intervention Specialist: Mild-Moderate or Moderate-Intensive.

Qualifications:

• Must have a valid Ohio Education of the Handicapped Licensed/Certificate with SLD, CD validation (candidates with multiple special education validations preferred)
• Or Intervention Specialist: Mild-Moderate or Moderate-Intensive
• Must have a Bachelor’s degree (at minimum).
• Must have clear background clearances

Responsibilities:

• Be aware of the social and emotional needs of each individual student
• Demonstrate the ability to identify individual student needs
• Creatively develop and implement integrated and functional activities to teach the contact standards
• Effectively differentiate instruction
• Efficiently use student data to determine individual needs, develop targeted learning plans, and
  monitor ongoing progress
• Serve students with a variety of handicapping conditions as well as at-risk students within an
  intervention or inclusion setting
• Effectively plan, design and implement a variety of behavior management strategies
• Possess strong communication and organizational skills
• Demonstrate the ability to collaborate with parents, special and regular education staff, students, related service personnel and community agencies in the delivery of services to students with disabilities
• Be objective, flexible, and have an understanding of students with disabilities.
• Participate in department, building and district professional development opportunities relating
  to the education of students with disabilities
