We are currently seeking a Special Education teacher for a full-time position working with K-5 students in the Columbus, OH 43219 area. Eligible candidates must have a current, valid Ohio teaching certification for the appropriate grade/content area and acceptable FBI/BCII background checks. Candidates with at least two years’ experience teaching grade/content in a primary school are preferred.

Qualifications:

• Must have a valid Ohio teaching certification for the appropriate grade/content area
• Must have acceptable FBI/BCII background checks
• At least two years’ experience teaching grade/content in a primary school, preferred

Responsibilities:

• Follows all Federal rules and regulations concerning written times lines for initiating and writing IEPs/504s/ETRs/RIEP/RETRs
• Maintain and update annual calendar for IEPs/504s/ETRs/RIEP/RETRs
• Follows all district wide Special Education policies and procedures
• Develops and implements plans for the curriculum program assigned and show written evidence of preparation as required
• Plans and uses appropriate instructional/learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect accommodation for individual needs of students assigned
• Prepares lessons that reflect accommodation for individual student differences
• Presents the subject matter according to guidelines established by the Ohio Department of Education, board policies, and administrative regulations
• Plans and uses appropriate instructional/learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect accommodation for individual needs of students assigned
• Other duties as assigned
