We are currently seeking General Education Teachers for either ELA or Math classrooms in the Philadelphia, PA 19103 area. They are full-time positions working with middle school students with a daily schedule of Monday-Friday from 7:40am-3:45pm. Eligible candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree, a PA Teacher Certification in the respective subject, and up-to-date PA Clearances.

Qualifications:

• Must be a certified Teacher in the state of Pennsylvania
• Must have a Bachelor’s degree (at minimum)
• Must have current, up-to-date clearances (within 1 year)
  • PA Criminal Background Clearance
  • PA Child Abuse Clearance
  • FBI Fingerprint Clearance

Responsibilities:

• Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning
• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction
• Teaches knowledge and skills in English or Math
• Develops standards for critical analysis through group discussions
• Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student’s needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed
• Encourages parental involvement in students’ education and ensures effective communication with students and parents
• Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by the school
