We are seeking a Certified School Nurse (CSN) for a part-time position (about 9 hours/week) working with students in the Chinatown section of Philadelphia, PA. Eligible candidates must have a current PDE School Nurse Certification and up-to-date PA Clearances. This is a position for the 2023-2024 school year and will begin in the Fall. There is one LPN on staff that the CSN will provide supervision for.

Qualifications:

• Must have a current PDE School Nurse Certification
• At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
• Must have clear background clearances
  • FBI Fingerprints
  • PA Criminal Background
  • PA Child Abuse
  • Physical and TB Test

Responsibilities:

• Develops and maintains a comprehensive school health services program for students, following the guidelines of the PA School Code, PA DOH Regulations, the Division of School Health guidelines, PA DOE Regulations, and school district policies.
• Consults with school administrators to establish, review and revise policy and procedures for a
  comprehensive school health program.
• Provides up-to-date information for use of school personnel on such subjects as the growth and development pattern of children, first aid practice, accident prevention, and communicable disease regulations
• Assists in evaluating the content material used for health teaching, and offer assistance in providing sources of information.
• Provides direct services to students, using the nursing process to provide care to the school community in accordance with current medical practice and nursing standards, relevant statutes, and regulations.
• Provides first aid for illness or injury to students and documents nursing
  assessment, diagnosis and treatment.
• Facilitates an organized system of coordinated care for students.
• Promotes a safe and healthy school environment.
