We are currently seeking a School Counselor for a full-time position working with 7th and 8th grade students in the Kinzers, PA 17535 area. The position will start ASAP and have a daily schedule of 7:20am – 2:45pm. Eligible candidates must have a valid PA State Certification as a School Counselor and must have up-to-date PA clearances.

Qualifications:

• Must be a Certified School Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania
• Must have a Master’s degree in school counseling
• Must have current, up-to-date PA clearances

Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized guidance to help students create academic plans, navigate career choices, and address personal challenges.
• Engage in broader initiatives to raise awareness about important issues such as drug abuse, bullying, and other significant challenges
• Listen to students’ concerns about academic, emotional or social problems
• Help students process their problems and plan goals and action
• Mediate conflict between students and teachers
• Improve parent/teacher relationships
• Assist with college applications, jobs and scholarships
• Facilitate drug and alcohol prevention programs
• Organize peer counseling programs
• Refer students to psychologists and other mental health resources
• Advocate for students’ well-being, and as valuable resources for their educational advancement
