» Humanus | Vehicle Leasing Company

Issue: The Company had recently been sold to a new owner. It had inherited outdated systems and procedures from its previous owner, and had only recently created a human resources department, using staff drawn from other functions. The company had very few formal personnel procedures in place, no pay structure for its 500 or so staff and an annual appraisal process that was only used spasmodically. Management capability had been identified as a major issue for the company. At the same time the company was acquiring subsidiary companies.

Solution: Humanus worked closely with the Chief Executive, Director of Finance and the new HR team to:

• redefine roles in the organisation in order to focus not just on task, but on what the overall purpose of roles and the criteria for success in the role, including the key behaviours required
• create a competency framework, working with a consultancy firm that were appointed to deliver top team and manager assessment and development centres
• develop a grading and pay structure
• create and implement a new performance review process across the organisation provide additional support, as required, including management bonus design, and on acquisition issues.
